Questions

I understand you’ve got your pitchfork ready over me missing your crypto savior. Annnnddd maybe I did fuck something up but before you try out as a victim on a Netflix special, here are some Q&A’s that may help.

How come this site sucks on mobile?

Brohemian Grove, what do you want me to do – these tables take up more than the 300px of real estate on your phone.

How do you choose your influencers?

Here are the basic criteria:

  • The channel must have a crypto dominant theme (e.g., 50% crypto)
  • The channel can’t be dead
  • The channel can’t be mainstream
  • The channel can’t be an executive of an exchange
  • The channel can’t be a founder or higher up of a coin / token / wallet
  • The channel must provide value
  • No giveaway channels
  • No channels purely set up for promotion
  • No spam shill channels (all channels shill but there’s a limit)
  • No fake followers / subscribers

The lines are blurred and there were some close calls. On close calls, there’s a lot of subjectivity that goes into it.

I look for true, authentic influencers who are mostly independent.

Guy, from Coin Bureau, is a perfect example of a true influencer.

Do opinions matter?

No.

The channel can be pro bitcoin, eth, XRP, doge, etc.

As long as the content is mostly non-spammy, it doesn’t matter what the channel is pushing.

Is inclusion on CSI an endorsement in any way?

No.

Some influencers have high value content and others are just trying to extract as much money as possible.

If the channel met the criteria above and had a lot of followers / subscribers, they were in.

What is the subscriber / follower cutoff?

I didn’t make it there on my initial list but I eventually want to get to a cutoff of 15,000 subscribers on YouTube and Twitter (each).

Instagram will be 10,000.

TikTok will probably be 10,000 at some point.

What about XYZ influencer?

Even as I published, I kept finding more and more worthy influencers to add to the list, but at some point I had to go to print.

If you would like to recommend an influencer (you can recommend yourself), send me a message.

Where did you get your data from?

All of the influencers were selected manually. I actually went through Twitter and YouTube and added them to a spreadsheet one by one.

I’m sure there’s a way to pull the accounts automatically but then I wouldn’t have as high a ratio of true influencers.

Other than the YouTube subscribers to views ratio, the stats are from SocialTracker.io.

How come your numbers are outdated?

My numbers are outdated the second I publish them.

Within two days, some Twitter accounts had thousands more followers.

I’ll find a way to keep numbers closer to real-time.

How often do you update numbers?

The top 10 of Twitter and YouTube will be updated weekly.

Otherwise, everything else will be time stamped whenever I get to it.

My objective is to automate the process but until then, all numbers will be updated at least once a month.

Why are some stats missing?

There was no data available on those accounts.

Why not Facebook?

Fuck Facebook.

Why should I subscribe to CSI?

I’ll send you some cool stuff and only spam 15%.

I really do have some very cool content in the works – it’ll be an email you won’t outright delete that many times.

What else do you have in store?

I’m creating a podcast that will be distributed on YouTube (with video).

I’ll also post on Twitter and see what happens on TikTok.

How does CSI make money?

As of right now, I don’t.

Eventually I hope to spam the hell out of everyone on my subscriber list.

Maybe some ads or promos (legitimate stuff I can sleep at least 80% at night about).

From there, the world is my clam.
